![]() ![]() These drill fast and true, and the only hiccup I hit was going through water-logged plywood on a cabinet base. I hear it and it slows down a bit, but it’s drilling through big nails! These saws are beasts-getting through a stud up high where I’d expect to hit a nail from the top plate is not a problem with these carbide-tipped saws since they will go right through. This set should provide me with much use. The hole was placed to drill partly through a knot. I drilled into a piece of 2X treated pine as a test using the largest hole saw in the set 2-1/2”. The set includes a paper with recommended maximum speeds for different size holes and a list of maximum speeds for different metals. ![]() The threaded part that screws into the hole saw is the same thread size as other brands I love having standards like that. The can be nested in the box for when you add a few more sizes bought individually. It is nice to have a storage slot for those parts though. ![]() The flap lid on that compartment is relatively easy to knock loose, but also easy to replace. They come in a Milwaukee red box that has a compartment across the back to hold the arbors and extra pilot bits. The chance to try this set came along and with a project in the planning stages this was a good time to try these Milwaukee hole saws. I have worn out a number of hole saws over the years. And, Milwaukee offers a quality product in several combination packages. Without ruining the new blade.Ĭarbide is really the way to go for a hole saw set. These new cutters didn’t let me down and I was quickly and efficiently able to cut another plumbing hole in the same stucco stone facing and through the plywood sheathing underneath. I could use these carbide blades on more than just wood without fear of ruining them. The cutters are carbide tipped and rated for all common materials. I acquired this new set of Milwaukee Hole Dozer Plumbers Carbide Hole Saw Set (12-Piece) to replace the blade I had ruined and more. And, although I got my hole cut, the blade was ruined with all of the teeth round off as though I’d filed them with a flat file. That set was not carbide and made for wood only. But, I had misused the smallest blade by forcing it on a job I was working on, through a piece of stucco stone on a wall I needed to pass a water pipe through. I already had an older, Milwaukee set of hole saws when I ordered this carbide set. They’ve always been of great quality and worked well for me. Milwaukee tools have always been is a brand I can depend on. ![]()
